Interpreter Services are provided under the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Services program to help individuals overcome barriers to employment. These services include:
· Sign language and oral interpreter services for eligible individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, deaf-blind or late-deafened.
· Foreign language interpreting.
· Reader services.
Personal assistance services are also included in this category. Services are available through 32 unit offices and two Vocational Rehabilitation facilities throughout the state. Services are planned, provided and coordinated by vocational rehabilitation counselors, related professionals and support staff. Individuals have access to other government entities, private and public organizations for services.
