Service Description

Provides family planning services and other preventive care to low-income women and men by funding clinics in local health departments and other community-based providers. The aim is to:

- Decrease the number of unplanned pregnancies

- Decrease the health problems associated with unplanned pregnancies

The service benefits the general population with an emphasis on low-income North Carolinians. Services are provided through local health departments and some community-based organizations.

RFA was sent out for Family Planning Services in the Fall of 2016. Proposals from community based organizations as well as local health departments were submitted, and a volunteer committee determined who received the grants based on a rating scale determined by best practices in Family Planning.
