Service Description

Relay NC is a dual-party telephone relay service available by dialing 711. Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deaf-Blind and speech-impaired individuals are ensured functional equivalency in accessing community resources via the telecommunications system.

A contracted vendor provides dual-party telecommunications service. The level of demand is measured by the number of outbound calls made via the 711 Relay NC number. Demand for tradional relay service is expected to maintain a downward trend. At the same time, demand for internet-based relay services will continue to increase sharply.
