Service Name Broughton Hospital - Child / Adolescent Program Name Child Out of Home Treatment
Goal Provide services and protection to individuals and families experiencing serious health and safety needs who are not, at least temporarily, able to assist themselves with the goal of helping them to return to independent, community living.
Objective Assure that children being served in out-of-home placements receive assessment and treatment services designed to assist them in their return to home and/or community living.

Service Description
Broughton Hospital, located in Morganton, provides inpatient psychiatric services to adolescents who cannot be served in the community because of the severity of their symptoms.  Inpatient services include:
 
 

-Crisis stabilization (immediate help for a mental health emergency)

-Assessment

-Medical care

-Psychiatric treatment

-Patient advocacy

-Social work services including counseling, discharge planning and links to the community

-Education
