Service Description
 

The Office of Rural Health serves as the lead agency for recruiting primary medical, psychiatric, and dental care providers to North Carolina's rural and underserved communities by using a matching service database to link potential candidates with communities. Recruiters attend state and national conferences, as well as career fairs, and visit residents to promote opportunities to practice in North Carolina. 

 

Rural residents benefit from the placement of medical care providers in their communities. The medical professionals may also receive incentives in the form of loan repayment or high needs service bonuses.
